About Me

I started teaching in Seoul, South Korea where classical music is a big part of the culture. When I was a student, I chose to learn Western classical music over traditional Korean instruments because it was romantic and I wanted to learn more about Western arts and culture.

I came to America so I could continue to teach and learn music and I am very happy and fortunate I was able to experience music here. I have over 15 years of experience between Korea and the US now. I graduated from Dongduk Women's University where I majored in Violin and minored in Piano. I have played for the Seoul Civic Orchestra, Daerim Methodist Church of Seoul, Lotte Cultural Center and for the Cascadia Symphony in Everett WA.

I have taught all ages but most of my experience has been with children and young students. I like to tailor my teaching methods to a student's personality and style as I have found that everyone is unique and your personality is reflected in playing music.

I want my students to first have fun and make learning a musical instrument a memorable experience just like it was for me. I always first try to show students how much I enjoy playing and I believe that can encourage students to want to learn themselves. I am looking forward to making great memories teaching and learning at Ted Brown Music.
