Dan Cass has studied, performed, and taught myriad musical styles. He has performed as a soloist and an ensemble player, including jazz, classical, rock, and everything in between. His enthusiasm for music has led him to perform in front of audiences through out the western United States. He has been a feature soloist with the Columbia basin Orchestra. Dan has also won several awards, most notably best guitarist in a jazz choir at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, for classical and jazz guitar. Dan studied with legendary jazz guitar teacher John LaChapelle while working on his music degree at Columbia Basin College. Shortly after graduation, he went on to study classical guitar and pedagogy with world renown classical guitarist Dr. Paul Grove at Gonzaga University.

Dan began his teaching career in 1997 and has taught hundreds of students. He is currently an adjunct guitar instructor at Columbia Basin College and teaches the guitar program at Christ the King School. He has taught and developed guitar classes throughout the region and given clinics on classical and jazz guitar. He also adjudicated the Solo and Ensemble on both the regional and state level, as well as judged the NorthwestGuitar Festival. Dans' students have been accepted into college music departments, such as Cornish School of the Arts, Central Washington University, University of Washington, and others. Others have won scholarships and competitions, performed and toured in rock bands, and have developed their own teaching studios.
