Melissa graduated from Central Washington University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 2006. She has studied under the tutelage of Heather Netz and the late D. Robert Burroughs. She currently plays second violin with the Mid-Columbia Symphony. She has also collaborated with the Mid-Columbia Musical Theater and Pasco High School for musicals, and the Mid-Columbia Academy of Ballet for their annual performance of the Nutcracker. She has played with ensembles formed by Central United Protestant Church to perform Handel's Messiah annually at Christmas time as well.

Melissa has been teaching privately out of her home since 2008. She recently made the move to the studios at Ted Brown Music. She teaches students of all ages and abilities. Due to suffering minor playing-related injuries, Melissa is an advocate for ensuring proper postures and techniques.
