About Me

Lindsay Hills started teaching the violin while studying for her Master’s degree in 2010 and has been teaching in Seattle for the past 3 years. She strives to create a warm and positive environment for students and parents and believes that learning and playing the violin should be both challenging and rewarding. She believes that learning music is not only important in exposing children to the arts, but also helps in developing other crucial life skills.

Lindsay creates a unique curriculum for each student using a combination of the Suzuki Method and other materials. In her studio, Lindsay expects students (and parents) to be willing and able to do daily practice. Her students put on 2 recitals per year. She teaches all ages through high school and particularly enjoys working with kindergarten and elementary age students. Lindsay offers one free half hour trial lesson to new students. Weekly 1/2 hour lessons are recommended for young beginners.

Lindsay has a Bachelor's in violin performance from the Eastman School of music and Master's from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh PA. She has performed with many local musicians and orchestras.
