Rose-Ellen was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. In fourth grade, she found a flute while snooping in her brother’s room, and was surprised to see she could play a few notes. She begged her parents for lessons and enjoyed participating in concert and marching bands every school year thereafter. She studied privately in the Suzuki School of Music under Joyce Bennett.
Rose-Ellen received a Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Human/Child Development, and a minor in Music from Brigham Young University in 2009. From 2008-2015, while raising three children, she qualified for and received teacher trainings in the Suzuki School of Music for beginner and intermediate flute students. In 2011, Rose-Ellen and her family settled in the Yakima Valley and she began teaching a small number of students in her home. She is excited to expand her studio with Ted Brown Music!
Dr. Suzuki believed that great talent potential lies within every child. Parents and teachers create a nurturing environment for the child to listen to, experience, and develop exceptional musical talent. The Suzuki method is highly effective and teaches all students a vibrant classical repertoire, appreciation of music, performance skills, memorization, and musicality. Rose-Ellen welcomes students of all instruction methods, and is happy to customize instruction to support individual student goals.
