Brian Lilly is a professional drummer/musician/artist/instructor. Brian has been playing since age 5 and began teaching drums at the young age of 16. His musical education includes 8 years of concert band/choir, 6 years of marching/jazz bands and 2 years of music theory solidifying a background of vocals, guitar, piano and songwriting.
As a graduate of Central Kitsap High School in 1986, Brian was voted outstanding musician of the year. He was accepted at the highest level to the Musicians Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA, and then attended Seattle Drum School to further his education.
Brian's experience includes extensive recording studio work and stage/concert appearances with countless artists, including Rock n' Roll & Blues Hall of Fame inductees to legends in the business, covering numerous styles and genres. Brian has performed at countless world-famous venues, touring the country side from California's West Coast to Nashville, TN, from south of Texas to the Arctic Circle. As a teacher of over 30 years, Brian’s students have gone on to tour the world.
Brian is a highly sought after studio and freelance drummer/musician as well as an educator. His teaching method is helpful to players of all levels, from beginning through advanced to even the seasoned pro. His systems involve unlimited situations/methods and come from many different ideas, exercises, books, drum machines and unlimited various styles of music.
Brian has been teaching for Ted Brown Music since 2001. Since 2013, he has also mentored students during the Ted Brown Music Outreach Live it Out Loud summer rock school.
