A Seattle WA native, Saxophonist/Woodwind player Danny Welsh has long been a fixture on the NW music scene as a performer, session player, and educator. He is a graduate of Seattle's award winning Franklin High School Jazz Lab, and former student of Cornish Institute's Jazz Program.
Danny has worked as a professional musician since 1980, and has taught saxophone privately since 1991.
As a performer, he continues to lead his own group(s) approximately 120 nights per year, gigging for a myriad of clubs and events region wide. Also in demand as a recording artist, he's added sax and flute to a wide variety of cd projects (including his own!), and many other commercial music ventures.
As an educator, Danny has helped a wide age range of many students over the years learn, progress, and enjoy their journey musically! From the beginning student to the advanced player just looking for something new, he's always ready to help enhance the unique vision and path every student envisions for themselves. Danny has taught many middle and high school students who wish to ascend from regular band to jazz band, with great results! Jazz, Rock, R&B, Soul, Pop, and all styles/genres are welcomed! Danny also offers lessons in Music Theory as well.
