He is proficient in all brass instruments, but specializes in teaching trumpet, cornet, trombone, euphonium/baritone, and french horn. He started his musical career at 12 and was named Most Outstanding Musician in high school. In college, Lance started playing with the top Jazz, Rock, and Latin groups in Los Angeles. He joined the Musician's Union at 20, hit Las Vegas at 21 playing at the Dunes, Aladdin and Sands hotels. At 24 he joined The Beach Boys band , recording 5 albums, and many tours of the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. My association with the Beach Boys was like getting a Master's degree in the Music Business. Working in the studio so much and doing hundreds of concerts gave me great respect and appreciation for what it takes to succeed at whatever you strive for.

Lance is currently living in Tacoma performing with the top-shelf ensembles in the Northwest, including a 20 year relationship as sideman and later, leader of the RoadStars, the official Jazz Band of the Washington State Fair, as well as a featured artist with KNKX(KPLU)'s School of Jazz on 4 CD's. Other recordings include 6 with his own band, The Monarchs, and a duets album with noted jazz singer Stephanie Porter, as well as the great Pearl Django. Add to this producing 7 concerts for the Tacoma Musical Playhouse theatre.
