Private lessons with Rebecca Gehring

I have been a string teacher for many years. I have taught private lessons on violin primarily, but also beginning to intermediate cello, and all levels of viola instruction. I taught beginning strings in the University Place School District for 9 years, in groups as well as private lessons during orchestra classes (the students were given permission to have a private lesson once a week).

I am primarily a violin soloist, but I have also played in many orchestras and chamber music groups.

I believe that students as young as three, or those seventy years of age or older can make rapid progress as they diligently practice daily and listen to the music they are learning. I love teaching and am still in contact with many former students.

Some of my teacher were Al Ventur, Ed Seferian, and Katsutoshi Nakamura in Seattle, who was a student of Shinichi Suzuki. I have also been to many workshops with Suzuki while he was still alive. I am a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
